At The Christian Outcasts, we are a writing community that believes God creates individuals, not clones.
We believe God has given His children creative freedom and an individual voice to use for His glory.
But too often, writers stop asking, "What story has God called me to write?" and start asking, "What story will the market accept?"
Because the writing market often capitalizes on trends and patterns, individuality can get lost when we become hyper-focused on the market instead of the story God has placed on our hearts.
What makes us different from many other Christian writing communities is that we strive to write the stories God calls us to write—not simply the stories we think will have the greatest mass appeal.
Our stories may very well resonate with a wide audience, but we refuse to compromise God's vision for our work in exchange for popularity.
We believe originality isn't rebellion against God—it is simply one way we reflect the creativity of our Creator.
We welcome and encourage Christian writers and readers who are drawn to stories such as:
Psychological Horror
Psychological Suspense
Supernatural Suspense
Clean Horror
Clean Dark Fantasy
Spiritual Thrillers
Transgressive Fiction
Gothic Fiction
Dystopian Fiction
Because these genres are sometimes misunderstood or viewed with skepticism in Christian circles, writers of these stories can begin to wonder where they belong.
If you've ever felt caught between worlds—like your stories don't quite fit the expectations of the mainstream market or even those of some Christian readers—you've probably asked yourself this question:
"Where do I fit?"
Our answer is simple.
You belong here.
Our mission is inspired by Matthew 10:14, where Jesus tells His disciples:
"And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet."
The disciples didn't stop because they were rejected.
They kept going.
Their rejection redirected them to where they were needed next.
That's why we believe:
Rejection Gives Direction.
So, dear Christian writer...
Stop trying to become the writer everyone expects you to be.
Be the writer God created you to be.
Write the story He placed on your heart.
Don't compromise God's vision for your story simply to gain acceptance from others.
Instead, find your people.
Find the community that believes your individuality is a gift from God—not a weakness.
Welcome to The Christian Outcasts.
